The business and the brief
Introduction
Dream Craft Engineering is a Sri Lankan consultancy working across residential, commercial, and industrial projects. Its website needed to communicate technical capability through evidence that prospective clients could explore. We developed a project-led experience that gives engineering work room to speak, organises the portfolio by sector, and helps local and overseas prospects begin a relevant conversation.
Engineering expertise is difficult to communicate through broad claims alone. Prospective clients need to understand the types of projects a consultancy handles and see how that experience relates to their own requirements. The website’s content and portfolio therefore needed to work as a clear introduction to the practice.
What needed to change
The challenge
- The previous website did not communicate the range and quality of the consultancy’s engineering work.
- A static presentation made it difficult to explore projects by sector or keep the portfolio current.
- Mobile usability, search visibility, and enquiry paths needed a more considered foundation.
Our approach · 01
Presenting engineering through projects
The design uses clear hierarchy and architectural imagery to introduce the consultancy’s work. Project presentation connects technical services with visible examples, helping prospective clients understand the types of assignments the team undertakes.
The visual approach supports the work rather than competing with it. A measured hierarchy gives project imagery and service information clear roles, helping visitors move between an overview of the consultancy and the evidence of its experience. This is particularly useful for prospects who are encountering the business for the first time.

Our approach · 02
Giving the portfolio room to evolve
A project gallery CMS allows the team to update and categorise its work by sector. This makes the portfolio a practical publishing tool rather than a fixed collection of images that becomes difficult to maintain.
A project portfolio becomes less useful when it cannot keep pace with completed work. Giving the team a way to organise and update projects makes publishing part of the website’s ongoing role. Sector-based categorisation also helps prospective clients focus on the examples most relevant to their brief.

Our approach · 03
Supporting discovery and qualified conversations
We structured content for engineering and design searches, with Sri Lankan and international audiences in mind. Responsive layouts, optimised assets, and clear enquiry prompts help visitors move from evaluating projects to discussing their own requirements.
The enquiry journey supports evaluation rather than pushing every visitor towards the same immediate action. A prospect can review the work, understand the consultancy’s offer, and then make contact with a more specific requirement. Search foundations and asset optimisation support that process without replacing the need for clear project information.
